Franco, Castellano, Gaffalione will serve their days

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Jockeys Manny Franco, Javier Castellano, and Tyler Gaffalione have dropped appeals of three-day suspensions handed them by the stewards at this meet and will serve their days over the next two weeks.
Franco, the rider of leading Kentucky Derby contender Tiz the Law, will miss Wednesday through Friday. Franco was suspended for his ride on Price Talk in the second race here on July 16, which resulted in a disqualification of that horse from first to fourth.
Castellano will take his days Aug. 26-28 after dropping his appeal of a suspension handed him for his ride on Value Engineering in the first race here on July 17. Value Engineering was disqualified from second to third for bumping Bundibunan.
Gaffalione will take his days Aug. 28-30 for his ride on Unholy Alliance, who finished first in the fourth race on July 31 and was not disqualified. Because Gaffalione is heading to Kentucky to ride Kentucky Derby week at Churchill Downs, his last day at Saratoga will be Aug. 27.
