Foxy Mischief the one to catch in allowance feature

MIAMI – A field of eight Florida-bred fillies and mares are scheduled to contest Sunday’s $38,000 first-level allowance feature at Gulfstream Park West, to be decided at 6 1/2 furlongs over the main track. The race also is open to $16,000 claimers.
New Jersey invader Foxy Mischief will bring a two-race winning streak into the headliner for new owner-trainer J. Kent Sweezey, who claimed the 5-year-old out of a one-length victory for $16,000 on Oct. 7 at Monmouth Park. The 76 Beyer Speed Figure she earned for that effort was a career best.
Foxy Mischief registered her recent victory by rallying from just off the pace following an unlucky start, but she also has posted a pair of wins in wire-to-wire fashion this season and could prove the controlling speed in this spot if sent along from the outset.

Don’t Get Khozy, who will break just inside Foxy Mischief under leading rider Edgard Zayas, could prove the one to beat off a second-place finish under similar conditions in her previous start, overcoming a little gate trouble of her own in the process.
Tiz Possible Dear will try to make amends for a disappointing performance here over a sloppy track three weeks earlier when finishing sixth as the tepid 2-1 favorite while making her first start off the claim for trainer Peter Walder. The setback snapped a modest two-race win streak for Tiz Possible Dear, who defeated similarly conditioned statebred competition when haltered for $16,000 on Sept. 6 at Gulfstream Park.
