Fox Hill Farm ceases operations

The Fox Hill Farm operation of the late Rick Porter has officially ceased operations with the turn to the new year.
Fox Hill posted on its social media accounts this week that its only remaining racehorse, Royal Ship, has been transferred to Porter's son, Scott Porter. The younger Porter will be racing under the name Fox Hollow Racing.
Brazilian-born Royal Ship had been racing for the partnership of Fox Hill and Siena Farm. The gelding, trained by Richard Mandella, has won 8 of 20 career starts and has won or placed in eight stakes in California, including, in 2022, winning the Grade 2 San Diego Handicap and finishing third in the Hollywood Gold Cup and Pacific Classic, both Grade 1 events.
Rick Porter died at age 80 in June 2021 following a long battle with cancer. His Fox Hill operation campaigned 2011 Horse of the Year Havre de Grace, two-time Eclipse Award champion Songbird, and Eclipse champion sprinter Kodiak Kowboy.
