Four top Fasig-Tipton workouts

Four juveniles topped Fasig-Tipton Midlantic's eighth-mile work tab Wednesday in advance of the company's May 22-23 preferred 2-year-old sale.

Colts by Lemon Drop Kid, Distorted Humor, and Deputy Commander and a filly by Clever Trick shared the fastest time of 10.20 seconds for an eighth-mile at the first of two under-tack shows in Timonium, Md. The colts were Hip No. 85, a Distorted Humor-Cat's Image colt consigned by the Scanlon Training Center, agent; Hip No. 117, a Lemon Drop Kid-Coronation Cup colt offered by Webb Carroll, agent; and Hip No. 165, a Deputy Commander-Draconienne colt also consigned by Carroll's agency. The filly was Hip No. 285, a Clever Trick daughter out of Just Like Katie offered as part of Terry Oliver and Bo Hunt's O & H Bloodstock agency.

The auction takes place Monday and Tuesday at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, each day at 11 a.m.
