Four tie for fastest furlong at Saturday’s OBS June breeze show

DRF Breeding Staff|Jun 14, 2014

A quartet of juveniles breezed one furlong in :10 seconds flat to tie for the lead at the final session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. June 2-year-olds in training and horses of racing age sale’s under-tack preview show on Saturday.

The four horses to tie for the fastest time on Saturday were:

► Hip No. 1036, a gray or roan Half Ours colt out of the unraced Orientate mare Miss Lucille. Consigned by Bobby Dodd, agent, the Louisiana-bred colt is from the family of Mining My Own, the dam of Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird and multiple Grade 1 winner Dullahan.

► Hip No. 1127, Two Faced Cat, a chestnut Wildcat Heir filly out of the unraced Gulch mare Poitrine. The Florida-bred half sister to stakes-placed Raise the Bridle is consigned as agent by Southern Cypress Stable, and is from the family of Grade 2 winner Strike a Deal.

► Hip No. 1138, a bay Belgravia colt out of the unplaced More Than Ready mare Pretty Ready, whose produce includes stakes winner Kinz Funky Monkey and stakes-placed Saint of Saints. Hartley/De Renzo Thoroughbreds consigns the Florida-bred as agent.

► Hip No. 1164, a chestnut colt from the first crop of sire Kantharos, out of the stakes-placed Quiet American mare Quiet Lake. She is a half sister to Grade 3-placed stakes winner Off the Jak and she is from the extended family of Belmont Stakes winner Summing. De Meric Sales consigns the Florida-bred colt as agent.

A Scat Daddy colt set the fastest time at two furlongs for the entire five days of the breeze show on Saturday, covering the distance in :20 1/5 seconds over the Ocala Training Center’s synthetic Safetrack surface.

The dark bay or brown colt, who sells as Hip No. 1070, is out of the winning Silver Deputy mare Noshameinmygame. Consigned as agent by Harris Training Center, the colt is from the family of Grade 3 winner and notable sire Boundary, as well as two-time Peruvian champion Ole Pegasus.

The OBS June sale begins Tuesday, June 17, with sessions starting daily at 10:30 a.m. Eastern through Friday, June 20.
