Four for Royal Ascot: Laurent Barbarin
A winner of the Fillies’ Mile at two and the winner of the Coronation Stakes on her reappearance at three, INSPIRAL also won the Group 1 Prix Jacques le Marois last season. The daughter of Frankel brings high-class form to the table as she makes her much-awaited comeback in this competitive Queen Anne Stakes. She should go very close if in the same form as this time last year.
It was nice to see 2022 Dewhurst Stakes winner CHALDEAN make amends in the 2000 Guineas after his unlucky, and somewhat scary, performance in the Greenham at Newbury prior to that Newmarket success. He stands clear in the ratings for the St James’s Palace Stakes, and there is little reason to believe he won’t follow up his Classic win with another top-class performance here.

TAHIYRA, the little sister to triple Group 1 winner and Arc runner-up Tarnawa, suffered a surprise defeat in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket, where she was sent off the 6/4 favourite. But she was quick to bounce back to winning form with an emphatic victory in the Irish equivalent at the Curragh late last month. She has always looked an exciting prospect and will surely take the power of beating in Friday’s Coronation Stakes. In my view, she is the banker of the whole week at Royal Ascot.
BAY BRIDGE went into this race last year as the odds-on favourite before finishing a length runner-up behind game winner State Of Rest. He ran a good race in the Group 1 Prix Ganay on his seasonal bow and followed that up with a close second to Luxembourg at The Curragh in the Tattersalls Gold Cup. Sir Michael Stoute's runner surely still has a bit left in the tank to progress further on his third run of the season, which would make him a huge player back at a track that suits.
