Fornatale: NHC Tour online event Sunday

Peter Thomas Fornatale|Mar 13, 2015

On Sunday, the National Handicapping Championship Tour returns to NHCQualify.com, the official qualifying site of the NHC, for an event that will send up to five players to Las Vegas next January. Buy-in costs $165.

Here are the races for the contest:
4:00 Gulfstream 7
4:10 Tampa 8
4:30 Gulfstream 8
4:40 Tampa 9
5:00 Gulfstream 9
5:10 Tampa 10
5:14 Oaklawn 7
5:30 Santa Anita 5
5:42 Oaklawn 8
6:00 Santa Anita 6
6:10 Oaklawn 9
6:30 Santa Anita 7

There is very good spacing between races and full, competitive fields, with a balanced mix of three races each from four tracks. Maiden-race players will be pleased to see two maiden special weight races in the mix, and turf racing fans will note that half of the races will be conducted on the green. Best of all, the weather is predicted to be excellent everywhere.

NHC Tour updates

The NHC Tour is divided into two sections, the first half and the full year. The first half ends July 31, and the top five in the standings at the conclusion of the first half receive $10,000 bonuses. For the first half of the Tour, up to five scores may be used, as long as one of the scores comes in an onsite contest. If a player has no onsite score, then only four scores will be used.

Players earn Tour points by finishing in the top 10 percent of competitors in an official NHC Tour event.

For the overall leaderboard, up to six scores are used as long as one of the scores comes in an onsite contest. If a player has no onsite score, then only five scores will be used.
