Fornatale: Belmont Park pick three for Sunday, June 24, 2018
What a busy week of sports between the World Cup, Royal Ascot, and the usual slate of American racing. I’m going to try to close it out on an up note by hitting a pick three at Belmont.
Race 6
The favorite here, #6 PIED BIANCHI, looks very live. She goes out for Todd Pletcher for the first time and cuts back to a sprint, which is probably what she wants to do anyway. I will use #8 PALLADIN BRIDGE as well. She ran well last time in blinkers, and while she hasn’t been seen in a while, she might just be getting good and should be a square price.
Race 7
This one looks formful as well. Wesley Ward sends out #5 MENTALITY, who was very solid in winning a first-level allowance last time and shows a good blend of tactical speed and finish. Similar could be said about #10 GOODBYE BROCKLEY. She should be plenty fit cutting back in her second start off the layoff. Hopefully, this will leave me with the best speed and the best closer.
Race 8
I am good singling #2 CALL PROVISION for the force of nature that is Chad Brown. He’s been finishing well against better and should get some good pace to run at here with the presence of Hello Don Julio.
The bets
$5 pick three: 6-8 with 5-10 with 2 ($20)
$10 pick three: 5 with 5-10 with 2 ($20)
$5 pick three: 6-8 with 5 with 2 ($10)
