Form gives away 10G in bets

Ron Profumo, a 50-year-old middle school counselor from Louisville, Ky., was tabbed as the grand prize winner of the Daily Racing Form Breeders' Cup Ultra Pick 6 Sweepstakes on Wednesday following a random drawing.

As the grand prize winner, Profumo will receive $10,000 in bets to play the $3,000,000 Guaranteed Breeders' Cup Ultra Pick 6 on Saturday. His name was selected from more than 4,000 entries in the contest.

The grand prize also normally includes an all-expenses-paid trip to the Breeders' Cup, but Profumo will be unable this year to travel to Belmont Park in New York because of recent surgery. Instead, Profumo will place his bets from his home track, Churchill Downs, and he will receive his trip to the Breeders' Cup next year. The Breeders' Cup is expected to be held at Arlington Park in 2002.

Four runner-up winners will receive $500 betting vouchers: Nobby Kamitakahara and Mike Marsenic of Toronto, Ontario; David Tarmino of Rochester, N.Y.; and Brian Deeley of Philadelphia.
