Forever Unbridled works for Personal Ensign

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Forever Unbridled won’t get very many starts this year, so it’s important that she makes the most of them.
Forever Unbridled certainly looks like she’ll be ready for the Grade 1 Personal Ensign on Aug. 27 after working a sharp five furlongs in 1:01.22 on Saturday over the Oklahoma training track.
Working shortly after the track opened at 5:30 a.m., Forever Unbridled went her first quarter in 26.00 seconds, three-eighths in 37.90, and came home in 23.32 seconds. She galloped out six furlongs in 1:15.00.
“She’ll get a couple of more good five-eighths, and she’ll be ready,” trainer Dallas Stewart said. “She’s done well so far since she’s been here.”
Forever Unbridled has only run three times this year, winning the Grade 3 Houston Ladies Classic and the Grade 1 Apple Blossom before finishing a troubled second to Cavorting in the Grade 1 Ogden Phipps.
Stewart said the Personal Ensign would be Forever Unbridled’s last race before the Breeders’ Cup Distaff.
“This will set her up good for the Breeders’ Cup,” he said. “We’ve been giving her a lot of time in between races. She runs hard. She’s been running hard all year. Hopefully, it will all come together for her.”
Stewart also worked his 3-year-old Tom’s Ready, the Grade 2 Woody Stephens winner, who went a half-mile in 48.99 seconds over the Oklahoma training track in preparation for the Grade 1 King’s Bishop on Aug. 27.
Tom’s Ready started four lengths behind Hollywood Handsome and finished a neck in front at the wire.
