Forever Unbridled targets Silverbulletday
Forever Unbridled, who defeated 2-year-old maiden fillies at a mile and 70 yards by 2 1/4 lengths Dec. 12 in her second start, will race next in the Silverbulletday, trainer Dallas Stewart said.
“It looks good,” Stewart said. “Hopefully, we’ll take the same path as her sister.”
Last year, Unbridled Forever, Forever Unbridled’s full sister, won the Silverbulletday in her third start. Racing only in graded stakes the rest of the year, Unbridled Forever finished in the money in five of her next seven starts. She was third in the Fair Grounds Oaks, Kentucky Oaks, and Acorn and finished second in the Coaching Club American Oaks and Indiana Oaks.
The sisters are daughters of Unbridled’s Song and the Lemon Drop Kid mare Lemons Forever, who won the Kentucky Oaks for Stewart in 2006. Comparing the sisters, Stewart said Forever Unbridled “appears to be a bigger, stronger racehorse with more definition in a lot of areas.”
“But it’s all about talent,” he said. “This filly seems very talented. Her sister was very talented.”
Stewart said Unbridled Forever, who was freshened after finishing fifth in the Breeders’ Cup Distaff, will arrive at his Fair Grounds barn after Jan. 1.
