Forest Mouse posts third stakes win of the year in SunRay Park and Casino Handicap

The 9-year-old Forest Mouse won his third stakes race of the year Monday in the $30,000 SunRay Park and Casino Handicap.
Forest Mouse ($4.60) stalked the pace set by Frat Boy, who took the field through fractions of 24.40 for the opening quarter and 48.03 for the half-mile in the one-mile race. Forest Mouse took the lead in the stretch and won by a half-length over Overland Park. It was another 13 1/2 lengths back in third to Pain and Misery. Forest Mouse covered the mile on a fast track in 1:37.30.
Alfredo Juarez Jr. was aboard the winner for Solitaire Stable and trainer Henry Dominguez. Forest Mouse spotted his rivals five to nine pounds as the 125-pound highweight.
Forest Mouse’s other stakes wins this year came at Sunland Park, in the $65,000 Winsham Lad and the $75,000 Curribot. Forest Mouse came into the SunRay Park and Casino Handicap off a third-place finish in the $150,000 Sunland Park Handicap on April 16.
He earned $18,000 for his win Monday. Overall, Forest Mouse has won 25 races from 58 starts for earnings of $933,687. A son of Teton Forest, he was bred in Kentucky by E.H. Beau Lane III.
