Foot forces Classy Class out of Jerome
Classy Class, a good-looking maiden winner who finished fourth in the Remsen Stakes, was forced to miss Saturday’s Grade 3 Jerome Stakes due to a foot issue, assistant trainer Art Magnuson said.
Magnuson said Classy Class threw a shoe in his last workout for the race and had a tender foot.
“We couldn’t train for a couple of days, so we couldn’t run,” Magnuson, assistant to trainer Kiaran McLaughlin, said. “Very unlucky. He’s very sound today.”
Magnuson said Classy Class likely would point to the Grade 3, $250,000 Withers Stakes here Feb. 7.
