Foolish Humor returns from layoff in feature race

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Foolish Humor will be returning from a five-month layoff as a major contender Sunday in the Gulfstream Park feature, a $60,000 turf sprint for 3-year-old fillies.
Wesley Ward is the trainer of Foolish Humor, who following an easy debut victory over the Belmont Park turf in May competed in three straight turf stakes, ending with a Woodbine race in mid-September.
“She just needed a little time, that’s all,” said Ward. “She’s come back strong in her training at Palm Meadows and we’re looking forward to her return.”

Queen of Shades, trained by Jason Servis, looks like the chief threat to Foolish Humor in a field of eight in race 10, the only allowance on an 11-race card that starts at 12:35 p.m. Eastern.
Racing will be conducted here Monday on the Presidents Day holiday, with Wednesday supplanting it as a dark day. Highlights for next weekend are the Grade 3 Gulfstream Park Sprint and the Grade 3 Hutcheson, both to be run Saturday at six furlongs.
