Foolish Humor promoted to victory in Colleen Stakes

Foolish Humor was promoted to victory in Sunday's Colleen Stakes at Monmouth Park, giving trainer Wesley Ward a sweep of the 2-year-old turf stakes run at the Oceanport, N.J., track this weekend.
On Saturday, the Ward-trained filly Karak won the Tyro Stakes against males. Both the Tyro and the Colleen were worth $75,000 and run at five furlongs on turf.
In the Colleen, Foolish Humor was away fastest under Paco Lopez, leading six other fillies through early splits of 21.18 seconds and 43.96 seconds while closely pursued by Strongerthanuknow and Miss J McKay. Miss J McKay made a strong move into contention as the trio turned for home, but drifted in at the eighth pole to bump the two rivals to her inside before drawing clear to cross the wire three lengths in front.
The final time was 56.38 seconds over firm turf.
After a stewards' inquiry and rider's objection, the Cathal Lynch-trained Miss J McKay, ridden by Jorge Vargas Jr., was disqualified to third, elevating Foolish Humor to first and Strongerthanuknow to second. Bramble Berry finished fourth.
Foolish Humor, owned by Andrew Farm, now has two wins to her credit from three starts.
