Fonner Park: Bold Accent rematches Eur O So Bad, Kims Star

Bill Hodtwalker|Feb 27, 2014

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. – Eur O So Bad and Kims Star return from their meeting last Sunday as the headliners in a field of eight older fillies and mares going a half-mile in the $10,000-added Bold Accent Stakes on Saturday at Fonner Park.

Kims Star, trained by Milton Gaede, was second, beaten a head, in an optional-claiming race last Sunday going the same distance. Eur O So Bad was another head back in third for trainer Temple Rushton. The pair should both benefit from that race in this field of nine.

Kims Star was sent up to battle on a hotly contested pace last Sunday. She kept on strongly in the lane but was run down late. Eur O So Bad was just off the leaders through the turn, then had to wait for an opening into the stretch before closing strongly, and may rate an edge off that effort.

Glamour Galore has two starts under her at Oaklawn Park in January and should also be respected here. She moves into the barn of Ron Westermann for her Fonner debut and should be sitting just off the leaders.

Tanabata, a second-level allowance winner here last Saturday, should ensure a lively pace. Trained by Joe Hawley, she dueled through the turn then drew off late for a 2 1/4-length win last Saturday.
