Fonner Park: Blake's Cat starts her year

Blake's Cat, third in last year's Iowa Sorority, will make her first start of the year as she heads a field of eight 3-year-old fillies for the $15,000-added Pepsi Stakes going six furlongs at Fonner Park.

Blake's Cat, trained by Greg Jensen, has posted a string of steady workouts and should be ready to put her good early speed to use with Armando Martinez riding.

Ebony Evening, trained by Chuck Wiley, was a most impressive maiden winner on Feb. 17 in her season debut, winning by six lengths in the half-mile dash. She picks up the riding services of R.D. Williams and should vie for the favorite's role on Saturday.
