Foie Gras closed into a hot pace for a commanding, 2 3/4-length win in the $135,000 Oaklawn Anywhere overnight stakes for 3-year-old fillies on Sunday at Oaklawn Park. Coaster finished second, while it was another 1 1/2 lengths back in third to Anakarina. The Oaklawn Anywhere was run over six furlongs. It was restricted to non-winners of a stakes race other than statebred. Foie Gras ($26.20) raced in third off the dueling pair of Anakarina and Keyana, who zipped through an opening quarter in 21.28. Anakarina continued through a half-mile in 44.86 as Foie Gras advanced on the turn, moved past the leader at the top of the stretch, and was in command by the eighth pole. She came into the Oaklawn Anywhere off a first-level allowance win at Churchill Downs. Foie Gras has now won 3 of 11 starts for earnings of $316,451. Racing resumes Thursday as Oaklawn puts on a special four-day race week to wrap up the holiday meet portion of its season on Sunday. The main event next week is the $250,000 Smarty Jones on Saturday.
