Flower Alley, sire of I’ll Have Another, has fee increased to $20,000

Flower Alley, sire of dual classic winner I’ll Have Another, will stand for $20,000 this coming breeding season at Three Chimneys Farm, a big boost from the $7,500 fee he had at the start of the 2012 season.

The 10-year-old, Grade 1-winning son of Distorted Humor received national attention this spring when his son I’ll Have Another captured the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes. Flower Alley began his stud career in 2007 at Robert Clay’s farm in Midway, Ky., and has sired eight stakes winners, five graded.

Two other Three Chimneys stallions whose stud fees will increase are Exchange Rate, from $25,000 in 2012 to $30,000, and Lewis Michael, from $3,000 to $5,000.

Three Chimneys’ 2013 roster features two stallions standing their first season: Grade 1 winner Brilliant Speed, who will stand for $10,000, and dual Grade 1 winner Caleb’s Posse, who will stand for $10,000 and also for $12,500 as part of the farm’s Share the Upside program, which grants a lifetime breeding right to the stallion.

Stallions whose fees will remain the same are Big Brown, $35,000; Ice Box, $7,500; and War Chant, $30,000. Stallions whose fees will be reduced are Red Giant, $3,000, from $6,000; Sky Mesa, $25,000, from $30,000; and Yes It’s True, $10,000, from $15,000. Point Given, who stood for $20,000 this year, is listed as private.
