Florida shipper Gibberish splashes home a length winner in Treasure Chest Stakes

Gibberish won her third straight race Friday, when she led throughout for a length victory over Regal Beauty in the $100,000 Treasure Chest at Delta Downs. It was another length and a half back in third to Shes Our Fastest.
The Treasure Chest was a one-mile race for fillies and mares and one of a handful of opening week stakes at Delta.
Gibberish ($5.60) set fractions of 23.93 seconds for the opening quarter, 49.06 for the half-mile and 1:14.62 for six furlongs. She then comfortably held off a bid from Regal Beauty while covering the distance in the slop in 1:41.53.

Gibberish is a 3-year-old daughter of Lea who races for e Five Racing Thoroughbreds. She came into the Treasure Chest off back-to-back allowance wins in South Florida, one in September at Gulfstream Park and the other in October at Gulfstream Park West.
Gibberish has now won 4 of 8 starts and the $60,000 first-place check Monday pushed her earnings to $139,460. The Treasure Chest was the first career stakes win for Gibberish.
