Flat Lucky by a head in Sam's Town Stakes

Flat Lucky became a stakes winner Saturday night, when he fought for a head win over Wonder Run in the $65,000 Sam’s Town at Delta Downs. It was another 3 1/2 lengths back to 4-5 favorite Laughingsaintssong in third.
The Sam’s Town was a five furlong race for 4-year-olds and up.
Flat Lucky ($8.80) sat off the pace set by Wonder Run, who was pressured by Laughingsaintssong through an opening quarter in 22.12 seconds. Flat Lucky advanced, moved to the fore, and covered the distance on a fast track in 58.50 seconds.
Timothy Thornton was aboard for trainer Robertino Diodoro.
Heads Up Racing owns Flat Lucky, a son of Flat Out who has now won 5 of 27 starts for earnings of $223,247. Flat Lucky was cutting back to one turn off an allowance win at two at Delta.
