Prince Hal Hanover backed up the win in his elimination a week ago by taking Sunday night's C$259,500 Charles Juravinski Memorial Cup final for 4-year-old male pacers at Flamboro Downs in 1:50 flat. With Todd McCarthy in town to drive the Dr. Ian Moore trainee again, Prince Hal Hanover floated out from post three while Dave Menary trainees Sugar Man (Louis Roy) and Fifth And Five (James MacDonald) left fastest from posts one and five, respectively. Sugar Man was able to establish command early, and McCarthy backed off late on the opening bend to let MacDonald in ahead of him before he drove on towards and eventually around Sugar Man. That put the other elimination victor and favorite Bruno No No No (Doug McNair) back in fourth, and he was forced to remain two-wide going to the 27 1/5 quarter as Fallout (Tim Tetrick) was parked behind him. The uncovered Bruno No No No advanced into second on the outside as Prince Hal Hanover hit the half in 55 1/5, but behind them, a fired-up Saba Rock (Brady Galliers) forced his way in between horses from fifth, bothering both Fallout and Rick Wink (Bob McClure) before Saba Rock made a break. Once they got past the half and Saba Rock was out of contention, the race became more orderly as Prince Hal Hanover remained in command with Bruno No No No, Fallout and Rick Wink lined up in the outer tier and Sugar Man, Fifth And Five and Ayeaye Captain Deo (Jody Jamieson) on the pylons. ► Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter Bruno No No No kept plugging away on the rim and got to McCarthy's wheel nearing the 1:22 4/5 three-quarters, but he never could get any closer as Prince Hal Hanover kept going on the front-end around the final bend, got a bit of separation coming off the turn and sailed home to the wire a length to the good over Sugar Man. Bruno No No No was a game third given the rough trip and Fifth And Five and Ayeaye Captain Deo rounded out the top five. There was a judges' inquiry after the race as Sugar Man did go inside two consecutive pylons on the far turn, but the ruling was that he was forced into that situation by Bruno No No No, so the result stood. By Captaintreacherous, Prince Hal Hanover was sent out by Dr. Moore for owner Prince Hal Hanover Stable. Prince Hal Hanover, who is now undefeated in three appearances thus far in 2026, has 13 wins, nine seconds and three thirds from 34 tries, has put away C$1,743,633 and returned $5.10 to win as the 3-2 second choice.
