All Class and driver Bob McClure pulled off the upset in the first of two C$35,000 eliminations for the Charles Juravinski  Memorial Cup at Flamboro Downs on Sunday night. All Class, 4-year-old son of Heston Blue Chip trained by Per Engblom, collared pace-setter Ervin Hanover in the stretch to post a 1:50 3/5 mile and take his third win in six starts this year. In a field that included favorites Seven Colors and Redwood Hanover on the inside flank of seven starters, it was speed at the outset provided by the outer tier as Hungry Man and Doug McNair blasted from post five to take command on the opening bend. Ervin Hanover was three- and four-deep for driver Louis Roy through the turn and secured the front well before a blistering 25 4/5 quarter was hit. With others vying for the front, McClure left and put All Class in a three-hole off the first turn and stayed put for the first half. Ervin Hanover slowed the pace some but was up by multiple lengths through a 54 second half. All Class moved off the third turn without cover and was the only horse to challenge the pace-setter. Seven Colors had broken at the start for driver Trevor Henry and was playing catch-up, while Redwood Hanover could not keep with the winner's cover through the third quarter. All Class drove by in the stretch while Ervin Hanover held strong in second. Hungry Man settled for third with Seven Colors coming back for fourth after saving as much ground as possible. Downrightdelicious finished fifth. Owned by Morrison Racing, All Class returned $17.50 to win. ► Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter No Control and Roy were fortunate to find a tuck in third going to the opening quarter and then made a bold uncovered move to secure the front into the final turn en route to a 1:50 4/5 triumph in the second C$35,000 elimination. The altered son of Control The Moment won for the eighth time in just 16 career starts for trainer and co-owner Tan Micallef. No Control left at the start but was looped out of the gate, with Liteningonthebeach and Henry going three-deep through the opening bend. Once Hunters Hero had secured the top, Liteningonthebeach followed and was in control by the quarter in 26 4/5. Favored Coach Stefanos had gotten away third in the early fray but allowed No Control a seat shortly before the quarter to provide cover later in the journey. Liteninghtontehbeach had the half in 55 seconds, and that's when Roy decided to move without cover with No Control, the second favorite. No Control blew past the leader following a three-quarters clocked in 1:23 1/5, with Coach Stefanos having difficulty pacing with him through the final turn. In the stretch Dupree Hanover rallied for second behind No Control, with Coach Stefanos settling for third and Huntinthelastdolar making a bold rush from well back for fourth. Blue Hunt finished fifth and will need some luck to reach the final. Owned by Micallef, Keira Liberte, Ian and James Clarke, No Control returned $5.80 to win.
