Five Star General leads all the way in Evangeline Mile

Five Star General led throughout for a two-length win over Hyperbolist in the $100,000 Evangeline Downs Mile on Saturday night.
It was another 1 1/4 lengths back in third to Strong Eagle.
The meet's signature race shared a cared with the $60,000 Lafayette, won by Ghost Hero.
Five Star General ($5) set fractions of 23.53 for the opening quarter, 47.64 for the half-mile and 1:12.79 for six furlongs.
He went on to cover the mile for 4-year-olds and up on a fast track in 1:38.95.
Timothy Thornton was aboard for trainer Grant Forster.
Five Star General is a son of Distorted Humor who races for Elttaes Stables.
Ghost Hero ($4.80) covered six furlongs for 3-year-olds in 1:11.60. Floyd Wethey Jr. was aboard for trainer Jayde Gelner. Ghost Hero races for Norman Stables. He won by 1 1/4 lengths over Alto Road, while it was another 3 1/2 lengths back in third to Not On Herb.
