Five fillies tie for bullet at F-T Midlantic under-tack show
Five fillies by five different sires shared the fastest time for a furlong at the under-tack preview show for the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic June sale of 2-year-olds in training on Tuesday.
A filly from the first crop of Enticed; a filly by the successful young Into Mischief stallion Practical Joke; a filly by the late Flatter; and fillies by Frosted and Social Inclusion all worked a furlong in 10 seconds flat on the five-furlong dirt track at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium.
A 10-second furlong is a solid time on Timonium's track. Last year, when the colt eventually named Hejazi worked a furlong in 9 4/5 seconds prior to the Midlantic May sale, it marked the first time since 2012 that a juvenile had broken the 10-second barrier. Hejazi subsequently sold for a sale-record $3.55 million. At Fasig-Tipton's Midlantic May sale last month, six juveniles tied for the 10-second bullet; one of those was the Arrogate filly who topped the sale at $1 million.

The Flatter, Frosted, and Social Inclusion fillies in this bullet group all come from the consignment of Crane Thoroughbred Services, as agent. The Crane consignment also sent out the filly who stood alone with the fastest quarter-mile among the smaller group of juveniles to breeze that distance. A daughter of Kantharos breezed in 20 4/5 seconds.
Accounting for outs through Tuesday morning, there are 86 juveniles set to sell at Fasig-Tipton in Wednesday's single-session sale. For hip-by-hip results from the under-tack preview, click here.
