DEL MAR, Calif. – Show It N Moe It won her stakes debut in Wednesday’s $100,690 California Thoroughbred Breeders Association Stakes for statebred 2-year-old fillies, giving apprentice jockey Evin Roman his first career stakes win at Del Mar.

Show It N Moe It ($12.20) caught 8-5 favorite Kimberlea K in the final furlong to win by 1 1/2 lengths. Show It N Moe It ran 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:05.11.

“She’s getting better all the time,” trainer Gary Sherlock said. “I don’t why she was 5-1.”

Roman had Show It N Moe It in third in the opening furlong, tracking Kimberlea K, who ran the opening quarter-mile in 21.93 seconds. Show It N Moe It rallied three wide to challenge Kimberlea K in the final furlong.

“It went perfectly,” Sherlock said. “I wouldn’t ask for anything different.”

Roman tied for the riding title at the Santa Anita spring-summer meeting that ended on July 4 and won the title at the Los Alamitos summer meeting that ended on July 16.

Kimberlea K finished 2 3/4 lengths in front of Gorgeous Ginny, who was followed by Family Girl, Empress of Love, Meet My Kitty, Mama’s Kid and Esterfourfourteen.

Show It N Moe It is the first stakes winner for Grace Upon Grace, a 10-year-old stallion by Rio Verde who stands at Terry Lovingier’s Lovacres Ranch in California. Lovingier bred Show It N Moe It and co-owns the filly with Tom London and Eugene Zondlo.

Sherlock said Show It N Moe It would be pointed for the $100,000 Generous Portion Stakes for California-bred 2-year-old fillies at six furlongs on Aug. 30.

Show It N Moe It has won 2 of 4 starts and earned $109,920.
