Fire With Fire won't start in Whittingham on big stakes weekend

Benoit & Associates Fire With Fire (blue and white cap) wins the Charles Whittingham in May.
ARCADIA, Calif. – The Santa Anita autumn meeting begins on Friday with a program highlighted by the $100,000 Eddie D Stakes over about 6 1/2 furlongs on the hillside turf course.
Saturday’s program has six stakes, including five Grade 1 Breeders' Cup prep races, plus the $75,000 Unzip Me Stakes for 3-year-old fillies on the hillside course. Sunday’s program is highlighted by the $200,000 John Henry Turf Championship over 1 1/4 miles on turf.
Fire With Fire, the winner of the Grade 2 Charles Whittingham Stakes in May, will not run in the Grade 2 John Henry. Trainer Neil Drsydale said last weekend that Fire With Fire has been turned out following an eighth-place finish in the Del Mar Handicap on Aug. 23.
