Fincher, Hubbard have big shot to sweep stakes for 2-year-olds
R.D. Hubbard and trainer Todd Fincher will attempt to pull a stakes double on Monday, when they send out leading contenders in the twin features for 2-year-olds at Zia Park.
Another Brother will break from the rail in the $50,000 Governor’s Cup, while Sippin will seek to remain undefeated in four starts in the $50,000 Permian Basin for fillies.
Both stakes will be run over six furlongs and although they are open-company races, they could produce starters for the restricted New Mexico Cup program Oct. 30 at Zia.
