Finallymadeit makes 18th start of year

MIAMI - Finallymadeit is not only the leader of the local sprint division, he's been the workhorse as well, having already run 17 times this season coming into Saturday's $35,000 Radar Love Stakes at Calder. The speedy and durable 3-year-old will be favored to add the 6 1/2-furlong Radar Love to his five earlier stakes victories when he faces six others, including D'artagnans'spirit, Guapeton, and the improving Bar Harbor.

The Radar Love will share top billing on Saturday's 12-race card with the $35,000 Connie Ann Stakes for fillies and mares at seven furlongs.

Finallymadeit has held his form amazingly well for trainer Javier Negrete despite keeping such a busy schedule. A son of Concerto, Finallymadeit did not post his first win in 2007 until April 12 at Gulfstream Park, but has since added six more victories, each at his home base of Calder. He has posted triple-digit Beyer Speed Figures on three occasions, including a 108 for his 2 3/4-length decision in the Whippleton Stakes on Sept. 23. And he narrowly missed a fourth when he earned a 99 for his hard-fought head triumph over Storm in May just two weeks ago in the Jack Dudley Sprint Handicap.

Eduardo Nunez will be back in his regular seat aboard Finallymadeit, who gets a break in weight from five of his six opponents as one of only two 3-year-olds in the field.

D'artagnans'spirit, the winner of the 2006 Jack Dudley Sprint, has won a pair of stakes this year but has not started since being vanned off the track following his sixth-place finish in the Turf Sprint Handicap on Aug. 11. D'artagnans'spirit has worked well in preparation for his return, posting several fast drills, including a bullet five furlongs in 59.80 seconds here Monday.

Guapeton finished fifth, beaten three lengths by Finallymadeit, when returning from a long vacation in the Jack Dudley, and he figures to improve with that race under his belt.

Bar Harbor earned a career-best 101 Beyer Figure after overwhelming first-level allowance types in his last start, but will get a class check stepping up against the best of the division in the Radar Love.

Like Finallymadeit, Cher Ami has gradually ascended to the top of her division, and figures to again stand some catching in the Connie Ann for filly and mare sprinters. A 3-year-old Lost Soldier filly, Cher Ami proved she could carry her speed around two turns earlier this month when she drew off to an easy seven-length triumph in the one-mile Runaway Marcie Stakes for her fourth win in her last five starts.

The Connie Ann drew a field of nine that also includes Grade 2 stakes winner Forever Together, who makes her first start since finishing far back in Delaware Park's 1 1/16-mile Susan's Girl Breeders' Cup on June 16. Forever Together opened her career with three straight victories, including a two-length decision over Silver Knockers in Gulfstream's Grade 2 Forward Gal Stakes.

Amazing Speed also demands respect turning back to seven furlongs off a pair of stakes tallies around two turns.
