Field still leads Future Pool 2

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The mutuel field continued to be the choice of fans wagering into Pool 2 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager by holding strong as the 4-1 favorite in light betting action Friday.

The field - all 3-year-olds except the 23 separately listed in the lineup - held a clear advantage over a cluster of single entities. As of 6:15 p.m. Eastern Friday, Atswhatimtalknbout and Kafwain were the co-second choices at 10-1, followed by Empire Maker (11-1), Badge of Silver (12-1), Peace Rules (12-1), Trust N Luck (13-1), and Lion Tamer (14-1). Handle was $57,435.

Pool 2 closes Sunday at 6:30 p.m. The results of the two major Derby preps this weekend, the Florida Derby and San Felipe Stakes, were expected to have a significant impact on the odds of at least several horses. Final odds are not determined until the pool closes.

In Pool 1, offered Feb. 13-16, the field closed as the 2-1 favorite. Pool 3 will be run April 3-6.
