Field still Future Wager favorite
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The mutuel field continued to draw strong play in Pool 1 of the 2003 Kentucky Derby Future Wager, holding steady as the 6-5 favorite shortly before 6 p.m. Eastern on Friday.
After the field, next in line was Kafwain at 11-1, followed by Indy Dancer (14-1), Empire Maker (15-1), Sky Mesa (15-1), Domestic Dispute (22-1) and Toccet (22-1).
The field, which consists of all 3-year-olds except the 23 offered as separate betting interests, has been the favorite in Pool 1 every year since Churchill Downs began offering the Future Wager in 1999.
Wagering on Pool 1 will remain open at tracks and wagering outlets until 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Pool 2 of the Future Wager is set for March 13-16. Pool 3 will be April 3-6.
