Jim McCue/Maryland Jockey Club Field Pass, with apprentice Axel Concepcion aboard for his first stakes victory, rallied to win Saturday's Find Stakes at Laurel.

Field Pass lifted apprentice Axel Concepcion to his first stakes win Saturday in the $75,000 Find at Laurel Park. Field Pass was a neck winner over Crabs N Beer, while it was another half-length back in third to Wish Me Home.

The win in the Find was one of four victories on the card for Concepcion. The 18-year-old native of Puerto Rico is the current leading apprentice in Maryland, according to a press release from Laurel.

The Find was a 1 1/16 miles-race run on firm turf and it was restricted to 3-year-olds and up who are Maryland-bred or Maryland-sired.

Field Pass ($10.20) raced off fractions set by Wish Me Home, who took the field through an opening quarter in 24.11 seconds, a half-mile in 48, and six furlongs in 1:11.75. Field Pass put in a strong run through the lane and covered the distance in 1:41.70.

Wicked Prankster was pulled up in the Find and he walked off, according to the chart of the race.

The $75,000 All Brandy was the counterpart for fillies and mares Saturday and Gold Digging Broad had her number put up after finishing second by a nose to the disqualified Downtown Katie.

Downtown Katie was placed fifth for stretch interference. There was a stewards’ inquiry as well as an objection by the rider of fifth-place finisher Amplio Esquema, who was elevated to fifth.

Gold Digging Broad ($44.20) set fractions of 24.65 seconds for the opening quarter, 49.41 for the half-mile, and 1:12.66 for six furlongs. The winning time was 1:42.80.

Carlos Lopez was aboard Gold Digging Broad for Jean Mahoney and trainer Miguel Vera. Gold Digging Broad is a Maryland-bred daughter of Mineshaft.
