Fiddlers Tsunami in top form for Great Lady M Stakes

Fiddler’s Tsunami finished a distant fourth in the 2017 Great Lady M Stakes, but in Monday’s edition of this six-furlong dirt race for Oklahoma-bred female sprinters, she looks like the most likely winner.
Fiddler’s Tsunami is one of seven entered in the Great Lady M (race 8, 4:31 p.m. Central), and not only does she bring the best form, the likely race flow appears to work in her favor. A 5-year-old mare trained by Jody Pruitt for the Blue Moon Stables, Fiddler’s Tsunami failed to win in a 10-start 2017 campaign, but she’s been in top form during a three-start 2018 season.
A solid third in a Delta Downs comeback race, Fiddler’s Tsunami scored an open-lengths course-and-distance win March 12 in an open allowance race, and on April 2, she emerged from the fog to come home a clear second of 11 in an open Will Rogers sprint stakes, also at six furlongs.
With the drop back down to Oklahoma-bred competition, Fiddler’s Tsunami need only hold her current form to win again, and jockey Kevin Roman could fall into a lovely stalking trip as several speed types knock heads in front of him.
Another Bond Girl has been soundly beaten by Fiddler’s Tsunami in two recent starts but could go a length or two better. Sonic Run, third in the 2017 Great Lady M, is the most interesting of the pace players but has so far struggled to get six furlongs in similar company when taking early pressure.
