Feedback retired after troubled return race

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Trainer Chad Brown said the decision has been made to retire Feedback after the 4-year-old filly put in the worst performance of her short career here Sunday.
Feedback went to her knees at the start of the 6 1/2-furlong allowance but was not injured, Brown said. The daughter of Violence failed to contend and finished fifth of sixth as the 3-5 favorite. She was making her first start in nine months.
Owned by Klaravich Stables, Feedback won her career debut by eight lengths at Saratoga in August 2018, then won the Grade 3 Forward Gal here last February in her second start. She retires with those two wins from four starts.
Last weekend was not a total downer for Brown, who is expected to be honored here next week with his fourth straight Eclipse Award for outstanding trainer, as he sent out Magic Star to win the Grade 3 Marshua’s River in her stakes debut Saturday. Brown said a next start has yet to be decided for the 4-year-old Scat Daddy filly.
