Favorites win both stakes

Form held up at the Meadowlands Racetrack as odds-on favorites Frisk Her and Amansara captured the $55,000 stakes on a showery Friday night card.

The track was fast when Frisk Her ($3.60) scored a three-quarter-length win over Lookin Back at You in the Holly Stakes for 2-year-old fillies.

Frisk Her, with Joe Bravo aboard for trainer Kelly Breen, bumped Lookin Back at You in the stretch, prompting a stewards' inquiry that did not revise the order of finish.

Frisk Her, now 2-for-3, ran the six furlongs in 1:08.68. She is unbeaten in both starts in New Jersey. Her defeat came on the synthetic surface at Turfway Park where she finished fourth but was disqualified to fifth for drifting in the lane in the Kentucky Cup Juvenile Fillies.

Amansara ($3.40) drew away to a 5 1/4-length win on the good turf to take the Without Feathers Stakes for 3-year-old fillies. Eibar Coa had the mount for trainer George Weaver as Amansara ran the one mile, 70 yards in 1:41.71.

The pacesetting Mambo With G was second and Scholastic Giant finished third.
