Dontlookbackatall wins Power By Far Stakes at PRX June 24 2024
Barbara Weidl/Equi-Photo Dontlookbackatall, based in New York with Christophe Clement, has now won two stakes in a row and has not finished worse than second in her last nine starts.

Dontlookbackatall won her second consecutive stakes race on Monday when she captured Parx Racing’s Power By Far for fillies and mares traveling five furlongs on turf.

The Power By Far was the co-feature on the Monday program with another $100,000 turf stakes for Pennsylvania-breds, the Crowd Pleaser for 3-year-olds at 1 1/16 miles.

Trained by Christophe Clement, Dontlookbackatall tracked pacesetter Organized Chaos through an opening quarter of 22.55 seconds, then picked up steam turning into the stretch.

Organized Chaos was a game rival, but Dontlookbackatall was too good under jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. with the official winning margin listed as three-quarters of a length.

Eight Danzas was another 5 3/4 lengths back in third. Then came Princess Runaway, Disco Ebo, Aoife’s Magic, Boss Like Beth, Always Mia, and Midnight in Alaska.

Shoshanah scratched at the gate. Flamingo Air and My Hunny Bunny withdrawn in the morning.

Dontlookbackatall, the 128-pound co-highweight, completed the distance in 57.19 and returned $2.40 as the overwhelming favorite.

Both Princess Runaway and Midnight in Alaska were compromised by severe bumping in the opening furlongs.

A claim of foul lodged by the jockey of Princess Runaway against the rider of Organized Chaos for interference on the backstretch was not allowed.

Dontlookbackatall, by Peace and Justice, is a 4-year-old half-sister to Grade 2-placed turf router En Wye Cee. Bred in Pennsylvania by A1A Racing, she was purchased for $150,000 by West Point Thoroughbreds as a juvenile at the OBS March sale.

Racing for the partnership of West Point, Scarlet Oak Racing, and Titletown Racing Stables, Donlookbackatall won her career debut on turf at 2 at Saratoga.

Never off the board from six starts last year, including victories on both grass and dirt, Dontlookbackatall has blossomed in 2024.

Following a narrow defeat in a high-level allowance at Gulfstream Park on March 31, Dontlookbackatall gamely bested stablemate Gal in a Rush in the License Fee during the Belmont at the Big A meeting on May 5.

Overall, Dontlookbackatall has won 5 of 12 starts for lifetime earnings of $377,290

Crowd Pleaser

Trevesso made a sharp wide bid on the second turn to blow past the three battling leaders, then had enough in the tank to take the Crowd Pleaser for trainer Cal Lynch.

Ridden by Jorge Ruiz, Trevesso settled at the back of the pack along the inside as the field passed the stands for the first time. Meanwhile, the early pace was solid as Party At Sam’s went out to the lead while hounded from the outside by Time Tested through an opening quarter of 22.96 seconds.

Maximus Meridius, who raced in the pocket entering the backstretch, pulled his way forward to split the two leaders after a half-mile clocking of 47.57, and those three slugged it out through three-quarters in 1:12.84.

Ruiz pushed the button on the second turn, and Trevesso responded with an eye-catching turn of foot. The gray colt made the lead without any problem and finished up 1 1/2 lengths better than Capo in 1:44.26 despite drifting out several paths in the stretch.

Trevesso returned $5.60 as the betting favorite. Max Barley finished a head behind the runner-up in third. Carcharoth, Sharp Tones, Heavy Pour, Party At Sam’s, Maximus Meridius, and Time Tested completed the order of finish.

Factor U and Me In, Lost and Confused, King Mendelssohn, Dropline, and Pretorian Gold were scratched.

A homebred son of Kitten’s Joy owned by Gregory and Caroline Bentley’s Runnymoore Racing, Trevesso is out of a winning half-sister to stakes-placed turf router Cibolian from the family of millionaire Mr Freeze.

Trevesso won the first of three dirt starts to begin his career but has likely found a home on turf. He made his debut over the surface 23 days ago in Monmouth’s Jersey Derby, and outran his 67-1 odds to finish fifth, beaten 2 1/2 lengths by Twirling Point.

Trevesso has now earned $111,710.
