Favorable Scenario back from two-year layoff

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Friday’s last event, a one-mile maiden race for 3-year-olds and up on the turf, includes Favorable Scenario, a horse trained by Chad Brown who hasn’t raced since February 2023.
Favorable Scenario has obviously has had his share of issues, but Brown said he has always thought highly of the son of Good Magic. And between himself and owner Seth Klarman, they want to give him another shot at a racing career.
Favorable Scenario ran third in his career debut going six furlongs on dirt at Gulfstream Park in February 2023. He worked twice thereafter before going to the sidelines. Brown said he has always wanted to try the turf with this now-gelding but admits it’s a bit of a trial-and-error situation.
“I’m not sure about this, I’m curious. It’s a curious entry to see what direction to go,” Brown said. “I don’t have a lot of time because it’s getting late in his career now. I’d rather figure out what he is meant to do between the turf and the dirt to save myself some time. I know he can handle the dirt fairly well. If he’s even better on the turf, it’ll keep him a little sounder as well.”
