Fastation extends stakes streak at Zia

Fastation continued her stakes tear on Sunday, when she outgamed Angel At Home for a half-length win in the $55,000 Permian Basin for 2-year-old fillies at Zia Park. It was the fourth straight stakes win for Fastation.

She began her streak in July in the 5 1/2-furlong division of the $100,000 Texas Stallion Stakes at Lone Star Park. Fastation then won the $85,000 Juvenile Fillies at Mountaineer Park on Aug. 7, and the six-furlong division of the $100,000 Texas Stallion Stakes at Retama Park on Sept. 25.

Fastation ($2.60) on Sunday set fractions of 23.22 for the opening quarter and 45.95 for the half-mile in the six-furlong Permian Basin. She fought back when headed by Angel At Home and covered the distance on a fast track in 1:11.67.
