Fast times at final OBS preview

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Fast workout times continued at the Ocala Breeders' Sales Co. on Sunday at the company's final preview for its select 2-year-old auction in Ocala, Fla., on Tuesday.

Hip No. 61, a Cuvee-Miss Awesome filly, posted the day's fastest work going an eighth of a mile in 9.80 seconds on the OBS facility's new Safetrack synthetic surface. That time beat out the fastest time of 10 seconds for the distance at the first under-tack preview on Feb. 3. Fourteen juveniles had that time on Feb. 3.

Three 2-year-olds had the fastest quarter-mile time of 20.80 seconds on Sunday, the same time that topped the quarter-mile work tab a week earlier. They were Hip No. 60, a Songandaprayer-Mighty Rose colt; Hip No. 95, a During-Ruby Tango filly; and Hip No. 135, an Alke-West Broadway colt.

The one-day OBS February select juvenile sale was to take place Tuesday at the OBS facility, starting at noon.
