Fasig-Tipton tweaks 2011 sale calendar

Fasig-Tipton's Saratoga select yearling sale will return to a Monday and Tuesday time slot slightly later in the Saratoga meet in 2011, and the Florida select juvenile sale - as announced earlier this year - will relocate from Calder to Palm Meadows under the sale calendar released Friday.

The November mixed sale also will be expanded to two days on Nov. 6-7.

The 2011 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga select yearling auction will take place a week later than in 2010, on Aug. 8-9 in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. In 2010, the auction took place on Aug. 2-3. The Florida select 2-year-old auction is slated for March 3 at Palm Meadows in Boynton Beach, Fla.; that sale's under-tack show will take place on Feb. 28, also at Palm Meadows.

Other 2011 Fasig-Tipton sale dates are as follows: Kentucky winter mixed, Feb. 6; Texas 2-year-olds, Apr. 5; Midlantic 2-year-olds, May 23-24; Kentucky July select yearlings, July 12-13; New York-bred yearlings, Aug. 13-14; Texas summer yearlings, Aug. 30; Eastern fall yearlings, Oct.4-5; Kentucky fall yearlings, Oct. 24-26; Midlantic December mixed, Dec. 5; and Texas December mixed, Dec. 12.
