LEXINGTON, Ky. – Fasig-Tipton Kentucky’s February mixed catalogs are in the mail now, and potential buyers reading them will immediately spot a difference: a special section for 2011 no-guarantee stallion seasons to seven well-known Bluegrass stallions. The seasons are to Spendthrift Farm’s Malibu Moon, Darley’s Medaglia d’Oro, Vinery stallion More Than Ready and 2010 leading freshman sire Congrats, as well as Three Chimneys resident Sky Mesa, WinStar’s Speightstown, and Bluegrass Cat. Including the seasons, the February catalog features 320 lots. Among the yearlings are an Indian Charlie filly from the immediate family of two-time champion Indian Blessing (Hip No. 76), and a half-brother to D’wildcat by first-crop sire Big Brown (310). Broodmares include the dam of High Limit (67); major earners Beau Dare (262) and Lady Byar (70), in foal to More Than Ready and Benny the Bull, respectively; and such graded producers as Personal Allure (142), Bala (261), Cayman Sunset (283), and Congratulations (296). Racing and/or broodmare prospects include Grade 1-placed stakes-winner Amazed by Grace (248); graded-placed Peach Brew (138), earner of more than $320,000; Ontario-bred stakes-winner Somme (196); a 3-year-old Vindication half-sister to Belmont winner Sarava (160).
