Fasig-Tipton releases initial catalog for Midlantic winter mixed sale

Fasig-Tipton has released the initial catalog for its Midlantic winter mixed sale, which this year adds a horses of racing age supplement as it moves back to its traditional December date.

The sale will be held Dec. 5 at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, Md., after being held in January the past two renewals. Fasig-Tipton officials said the move back was due to consignor feedback.

The initial catalog, now available online, features 203 entries comprising broodmares and prospects, weanlings, yearlings, and two stallions. The first group of horses of racing age entries is expected to be posted online late next week, with entries for that section accepted through Nov. 21.

"We have already received a number of attractive entries," Midlantic director of sales Paget Bennett said in a release.
