Fasig-Tipton New York-bred preferred yearling sale coming-out party for first-crop sires

New York’s first-crop sires get a chance to put their first yearlings through the ring in their home state at this week’s Fasig-Tipton New York-bred preferred yearling sale.
Solomini, who stands at McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds, is a son of Curlin, who was white-hot at the Saratoga selected yearling sale to kick the month off. Solomini, despite being an Eclipse Award finalist as a juvenile, retired without a stakes victory while placing in six graded stakes, including four Grade 1 events. He did cross the line first in one of those, the Los Alamitos CashCall Futurity, but was disqualified to third for interference. The young stallion now has 22 yearlings from his first crop in this sale, giving a large representation of his stock.
Leofric began his career at Rockridge Stud in New York before moving to Darby Dan Farm in Kentucky in 2022. He has six yearlings from his first New York-sired crop in the catalog.
