Fasig-Tipton mixed sale adds six

Fasig-Tipton Kentucky's winter mixed sale on Feb. 10-11 has gained six late entrants from Joanne Nor's Norfields Farm.

The Norfields draft will include the 7-year-old Forestry mare Teton National, who is from the family of Behrens, and an unraced 4-year-old Unbridled's Song broodmare prospect from the family of Desert Stormer. Both will sell through the Taylor Made agency.

With the addition of the Norfields horses, the winter mixed sale catalog expands to 509 horses. Last year's edition of the auction sold 371 horses for a total of $6,332,300, down 19 percent from 2006, when 20 percent more horses were on offer. The average price was $17,068, a 3 percent decrease, but the median increased 40 percent to reach $7,000.

The auction will start at 11 a.m. at Newtown Paddocks in Lexington, Ky.
