Fasig-Tipton Midlantic: Two cover a furlong in 10 seconds

A pair of juveniles set the bar during the first day of the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic 2-year-olds in training sale under-tack show on Tuesday, covering an eighth of a mile in 10 seconds.

The horses breezed at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, Md.

Following are the two horses to tie for the fastest time at a furlong.

Hip 6, a first-crop Shackleford colt who is the second foal out of the unraced Street Cry mare Intentional Cry, whose first is the placed Eskendereya filly Mackenzie Captri. His extended family includes Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf winner Hootenanny, Grade 1 winners Dance Teacher and Cat Moves, Grade 2 winners Gold Mover and High Limit, and Grade 3 winners Feisty Countess and Rated Feisty. Casse Sales consigns the Ontario-bred as agent for Kinsman Farm.

Hip 185, Wrong Way Jane, a Gone Astray filly out of the unraced Salt Lake mare Salsa City, whose four foals to race are all winners. The dam is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Runaway Dancer, with an extended family highlighted by Grade 3-placed stakes winner Fabulous Champ. Crane Thoroughbreds consigns the Florida-bred as agent.

Four horses tied for the fastest time at a quarter-mile, stopping the clock in 21.60 seconds:

Hip 85, Tybee, a Wicked Rich filly who is the first foal out of the winning Hold That Tiger mare Mom's Honor. Grade 3 winner Groovy Feeling can be found in the extended family. The New Jersey-bred is offered as property of Wes Carter.

Hip 112, Lunar Eclipse, a Malibu Moon filly out of the stakes-winning Touch Gold mare Our Fantene, whose one winner from two foals to race is Grade 3 winner Javerre. Grade 2 winner Avie's Fancy and St Averil can also be found on the page. De Meric Sales consigns the filly, as agent.

Hip 162, a filly from the first crop of The Factor, out of the winning Roar mare Ramblin Rosie, whose two foals to race are both winners. She is from the family of Grade 1 winner Buddy Gil and Grade 3 winner Alsvid. Eddie Woods consigns the filly, as agent.

Hip 170, an Ice Box colt out of the winning Meadowlake mare Rey Lake, whose three foals to race are all winners, including stakes winner Bessie's Boy. Grade 3 winners Zanetti, Miss Macy Sue, and Class Included can be found further down the page. Wavertree Stables consigns the Maryland-bred, as agent.

The under-tack show continues through Thursday, beginning each day at 8 a.m. Eastern. The auction will take place May 23-24, with a 10 a.m. start time.
