Fasig-Tipton Midlantic juvenile sale catalogs 598

The catalog for the 2016 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic 2-year-olds in training sale, with 598 juveniles on offer, is now available online.

The two-day auction will take place May 23-24 at Fasig-Tipton’s Midlantic base at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, Md., beginning each day at 10 a.m. Eastern. The presale under-tack show will be held May 17-19 with 8 a.m. start times.

Following a record-setting renewal in 2015, this year’s sale has a 22 percent growth in catalog size from the 490 entries in last year’s event. Print copies of the catalog will be available by April 22.

“The strength of this sale in recent years has once again generated a larger catalog with increased quality across the board,” said Midlantic sales director Paget Bennett. “Nineteen of the current top 20-ranked stallions on this year’s general sire list are represented in the catalog.

“In 2015 and so far in 2016, Midlantic 2-year-old graduates have won or placed in 115 stakes races to date,” Bennett continued. “A larger catalog, a dirt racetrack, and a tradition of graduate performance at the highest levels make this a sale that every serious buyer should plan on attending.”

Stallions with foals from their first crops in the Midlantic catalog include Aikenite, Algorithms, Astrology, Biondetti, Bodemeister, Boys at Tosconova, Bullet Train, Cal Nation, Caleb’s Posse, Calibrachoa, Country Day, Creative Cause, Crossbow, Gemologist, Get Stormy, Hansen, Jersey Town, Maclean’s Music, Mission Impazible, Overdriven, Redeemed, Rule, Shackleford, Soaring Empire, Stay Thirsty, Tapizar, The Factor, To Honor and Serve, and Union Rags.
