Fasig-Tipton catalogs record 1,254 yearlings for October sale

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Fasig-Tipton’s October yearling sale, planned for Oct. 22-24 in Lexington, has a record 1,254 yearlings in its catalog, the company announced Monday.

The auction will take place about a month after the Keeneland September 11-day yearling sale rang up sturdy gains in average and median; those figures rose 14 percent and 50 percent, respectively. Last year’s Fasig-Tipton October yearling sale saw huge advances in average and median as the average rose 76 percent to $24,010 and the median more than doubled to $12,000. The buyback rate was 20 percent.

Catalogs for the auction at Fasig-Tipton’s Newtown Paddocks headquarters are already available online at www.fasigtipton.com. Hard copies will be available in all Fasig-Tipton offices by about Oct. 5, and the Equineline iPad catalog app will be available at about the same time. The sale will stream live at www.fasigtipton.com.
