Fasig-Tipton catalogs 575 for Midlantic juvenile sale

Fasig-Tipton has catalogued 575 juveniles for its Midlantic sale of 2-year-olds in training, set for May 22 and 23 at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, Md. To view an online catalog, click here.

A pre-sale under-tack show will be held the week prior to the sale, with sessions May 16-18. The sale coincides with the Preakness Stakes, contested May 20 at nearby Pimlico Race Course.

“The Midlantic 2-year-olds in training sale and its dirt racetrack have long been a source of racing success at the highest levels,” said Midlantic sales director Paget Bennett. “This year we have nearly 600 catalogued and perhaps our strongest sire power to date. Buyers at all levels, and from all regions, will find quality horses to suit their programs next month at Timonium.”

The Midlantic sale cataloged 598 hips last year. Although the sale posted decreases in average and median price, its graduates included Malagacy, winner of the Rebel Stakes and among the favorites for Saturday's Arkansas Derby.
