Fasig-Tipton catalogs 327 entries for New York-bred sale
Fasig-Tipton has catalogued 327 entries for its New York-bred yearling sale, set for Aug. 11 and 12 in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
Each session will begin at 6:30 p.m. Eastern at the Humphrey S. Finney Pavilion at the Fasig-Tipton sale grounds on East Avenue, just across Union Avenue from the main gate of Saratoga Race Course.
The New York-bred program is experiencing another strong year on the racetrack worldwide, led by Grade 1 winners Audible, who finished third in the Kentucky Derby, and Mind Your Biscuits, who made another successful trip to Dubai. Recent success of sale graduates such as these is one factor in the catalog's growth, from 295 entries last year to the current number.

“Our consignors have once again supported us with the very best of the New York-bred yearling crop,” Fasig-Tipton president Boyd Browning said in a release. “This year’s catalogue, which is up in numbers, offers more selection while maintaining a high standard of quality. Whether your goal is to participate in the lucrative New York-bred racing program, or to win a Grade 1 race in New York, Florida, or Dubai, this sale and the New York-bred program offer the type of quality to get you there.”
The catalog features a dozen entrants by Freud, New York's perennial leading sire, and also has pulled in sire power from around the country. There is one entrant from the first crop of Triple Crown winner American Pharoah – a filly from the family of Grade 1 winners Evening Jewel, General Challenge, and Notable Career.
