Yaupon off to fast start
Grade 1-winning sprinter Yaupon recorded the two highest prices among first-crop sires at the Fasig-Tipton July yearling sale.
Yaupon, who stands at Spendthrift Farm, was represented by a colt purchased for $285,000 by de Meric Sales, and a filly purchased for $275,000 by U.S. Racing Stables.
Yaupon, by Uncle Mo, won three graded stakes, highlighted by the Grade 1 Forego. Off a strong start to the summer, he has seven yearlings selected into the elite Fasig-Tipton Saratoga catalog.
